I honestly thought he'd died a few years ago. In fact,  ... I was POSITIVE I'd heard /read it on the tv ?  So, I'm only shocked .... that he was actually still alive.

As for the man ... well, he might've been an OK actor .......... but somebody who backs guns (so high profile)  .......... no, he lost any affection I  might have had .......... years ago !

I watched The Ten Commandments on Easter Sunday and was thinking about Charlton and some of the amazing movies he appeared in, including Ben Hur and The Planet of the Apes. Although I did not agree with some of his beliefs, it is still a sad loss for the entertainment industry... :(

Whenever I think of him, I am reminded of his appearance in a Friends episode where he caught Joey using his personal shower and said to him: "Put some pants on so I can kick your butt" lol

Is that why Planet of the Apes was on yesterday?  I love that movie!

I can't say this surprises me because he had been ill for so long. I recognize the fact that he was a legend in the entertainment industry but I think as a person he was a bit of a b@stard. I am not sad that he died nor am I happy about it either.

They haven't said how he died.  I told when some people know they're "losing it" and they can no longer do they things they used to they take their own life.  I hope this isn't the case, if it is. I won't be shocked.

I am really sad that Charleton Heston died. I loved him in The Ten Comandments. It was the favorite movie my mom and I would watch. Hollywood has lost a real star and I am saddened at his passing, but am glad that his suffering is over and that he's in a better place.

No "but" about it.  Back in the day, one of the arguments for gun control in the Deep South was that certain people couldn't be trusted with guns; apparently even the most ignorant racists knew better than to bring a noose to a gunfight.

The "solution" involved laws whereby permits "may be issued", as opposed to "shall be issued".  In other words, everyone has the theoretical right to self-defense, but the county Sheriff got the final say in whether you actually get your papers signed.  Some counties were fair about it.  Some counties weren't -- and if y'all had a problem with Sheriff Klansman turnin' down y'all's application, why, y'all can just move to some other county, y'hear?  Why, Sheriff Klansman was such a nice guy he'd even help you pack!
