Back in '85, there was this girl who had an apartment just below mine. I'd go down there and she'd put on some Quiet Riot.
She would turn up the volume just until the sound started to distort. Then she'd crank it up a little more. ;D
Cum on feel the noise
Girls rock your boys
We'll get wild wild wild...

The cause of death has yet to be established and a post-mortem and toxicology test are being carried out. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances, with no forced entry into his house.
Quiet Riot's biggest hit was "Cum On Feel the Noize", a cover of the Slade song, which they are said to have begrudgingly recorded in just one take.

OMG! I just had that song stuck in my head last night.
There's a Truman Capote connection here, I'm reading "In Cold Blood." One of the bad guys, "Dick" calls everybody "honey," so I thought of :
"So you think I got an evil mind?
I tell you honey!
I don't know why,
I don't know why...!"
...which fits the the story well.
Anyway, Kevin DuBrow was a nice guy. Sad to see him go. QR's success may have been short-lived, but in 1983 the name was scrawled on every seventh grader's English book! Quiet Riot was HUUUUGE for about 18 months. I remember "Cum on Feel the Noize" climbed to #5 on the pop charts, a record high at the time for a hard rock/heavy metal single. Even I loved it, and I despised 'metal. I was a New Wave kid. The song was too much fun not to like!
I've also heard they did the song in one take, and sometimes that's the best way to do it!
Riot in peace, Mr. DuBrow.
:\'(
BTW, DuBrow had one of rock's most gifted guitarists working for him in the late '70s, and Ozzy lured him away. That guitarists name, of course, Randy Rhodes. DuBrow still managed to make a go of it after having his best talent swiped.
I don't really consider Quiet Riot "heavy metal," they're more glam rock/hard rock, but that's neither here nor there.

All though, I'm not a metal fan myself, the news is just as sad.
He'll be sadly missed by his fans.
Rest In Peace, Kevin

Only thing I know about Quiet Riot is their cover of Slade Songs. And my mom loves the band Slade.

I believe I win.
Anyway, here's an interesting piece of info:
The performance Choir I was in, in HS, had a Sound Tech named Ted Nelson. Among his work credits was Quiet Riot. In fact, he knew and had partied with Kevin duBrow.
My next winning bet will be: He OD'ed because the band's US comeback was a flop.
I know they tried to make a comeback around 1999-2000.
