Why does Shania get a fragrance?  And Britney has like...ten.

clothing lines, record labels.  is a few million just not enough? are they really testing a guage of how much the public will spend on entertainment, an image, and crap?

Celebrites do seem to dominate the fragrance industry nowadays. Every time I browse the fragrance counters, practically half of them have celebrity names on them. I'll admit that I did sort of like Sarah Jessica Parker's fragrance "Lovely".  :-[

I don't buy any of Shania's music, so I might be tempted to buy her perfume, except that it wouldn't smell like what I would want it to...

I guess Gwen when with just "L" because no one would buy perfume called "LAMB".

First of all, if Shania's perfume is called Shania, she shouldn't get any of the profits.  I read like 6 different biography books on her, and she apparently stole the name Shania from someone she met while singing at a resort in Huntsville, Ontario LOL

Yes.  The record company wanted her to change her name (her real name being Eileen Twain).  But since both her parents were on the wrong side of the grass, she wanted to keep her last name to honor them.  So she picked "Shania" which is an Indian word that means "from the wind" or something like that, to honor her Indian heritage.

I wonder what's the Indian word for "beaver" ???
