I know a few weeks ago someone said he was gone, but I guess they were just premature (without really knowing it).

Very sad. :\'( My husband is at work, so hasn't heard yet, but I know he'll be pretty low when he hears this. He's a huge fan, especially the days of Syd. :(

The heart and soul of Pink Floyd...the world never knew him. Everyone should play 'Piper at the Gates of Dawn' as a tribute to his weird and wacky talent.

The loss of a brilliant songwriter and painter, and an interesting, though profoundly disturbed man. I hope he is at peace now.

I'd go with Wish You Were Here. At Live8 when the band reunited, they performed it in tribute to him.

Not completely 'disturbed'...he spent the final couple of decades of his life in peaceful calm...
But I agree with the rest of your statement...a hell of a wasted talent...RIP Syd...
