I have just heard that Gene Pitney has died in the UK halfway through his tour. Very sad news indeed. :\'(

I have a greatest hits CD of his, he was a great one indeed, and definitely deserved the HOF.

I was never a fan of his music but I'm sorry he's died. He was due to play my local theatre in Liverpool next week.

Very, very sad...even moreso knowing that the man wasn't even ill (in actual fact, he took very good care of himself...)
Another 'great' lost to us all, but at least we still have his music...

Pitney was a master of the three-minute orchestral-pop opera. I was and remain a big fan!

His was the first concert I ever went to.
