This is very sad. I grew up watching him on Three's Company. The look on his face when he was always caught in the middle of a misunderstanding was priceless
R.I.P. Mr. Knotts :\'(

A legend has passed from us. Don's whacky characters were a constant source of laughter to me as a kid growing up. I especially liked him in "The Incredible Mister Limpet".
RIP Mr. Knotts. You did it right. :)

Trivia for
No Deposit, No Return (1976)
Don Knotts said that one day, while he was filming scenes for this project in the San Francisco airport, a director approached him and said he would like to cast him in a dramatic film one day. Although it never happened, Knotts said he was flattered by the offer. The director was Sam Peckinpah.
now THAT would have been interesting.

I just found this out when I got online. Poor guy; he'll be sadly missed. :\'( I enjoyed him as Mr. Furley on "Three's Company." I didn't watch Andy Griffith very much, though.

He will be sorely missed. I have a 4 movie set of his works, and actually watched a few of them last weekend.
If anybody ever gets a chance to see them, do it. One of the gems was The Love God?, and I have never laughed so hard in my entire life.
We lost another TV great, Darren McGavin died also. He is most well known for playing Kolchak: The Night Stalker.

You know something? The world is just a little less fun today without Don Knotts!
Adios Senor Knotts, you'll live forever for us as Barney Fife and Ralph Furley!

I heard about Don Knotts yesterday, but wasn't able to comment here at the time.
Two years ago, Knotts performed here with Tim Conway in a travelling show. Sad. I remember seeing them together in "Detectives" years ago. Don was also great in "Three's Company", but his portrayal of Barney Fife was unequalled. When I was in high school, a classmate and I had matching shirts featuring brightly colored photos of Fife a la Andy Warhol. 8) Can't forget his TV repairman character in "Pleasantville".

That's really sad. Never met him, but it felt like I knew him, and appeared to be like a nice guy. Barney brought out the Andy Griffith show. :(
