Curt Gowdy, tha American Sportsman and consummate play-by-play man, passed away today at the age of 76.  :\'(

Curt, you did it right.  RIP.  :)

He had covered a lot of sporting events of his time, and hosted The American Sportsman on ABC. His last World Series was in 1975, where Carlton Fisk his is "waved" home run.
He will be missed. :\'(

curt gowdy is a good announcer and also one of the best i seen the end of NBC's covage of the olympics and they payed tribute to him he did well for NBC and when they show highllights of his career in sports brodcasting I seen his olympic hosting job I didn't know he hosted the 72 winter olympics matter of fact I didn't know NBC did the 72 winter olympics
