Subject: A topic removed?

Hi Hairspray/ChuckyG.
Have you removed a thread about a guy called Apricot who who hates people? I was just looking for it and can't find the elusive thread anywhere.

Sorry to hear that, Hairspray. Why is that? The last time I wrote on it, it seemed fine enough.

Whenever there's a deletion, it is always related to violation of forum guidelines.
Time to move on.

I noticed a topic was removed about Saddam Hussein's sons. Any idea as to WHY it was removed? I don't recall any forum guidelines that were broken ??? And if they were, can you fill me in?

it's policy not to discuss why particular threads are deleted. Generally, the portion that violates the site guidelines isn't seen by many people, and it just gives unnecessary attention to the people trying to get their posts deleted intentionally.

:o ??? ::)Getting your posts deleted intentionally kind of defeats the purpose of trying to get attention,it would seem.Cheers! ;)

No, publically asking why and demanding an explanation though would get someone attention though. People love to pay attention to controversy, so where a message or topic removed wouldn't continue to draw notice, someone openly complaining about it, would.

I understand. I get inquisitive sometimes. ;) :)

Yeah, the more that people post asking questions about deleted threads, the original thread just gets more attention. Kind of self defeating. :-\\

I hope you didn't think I was complaining, I was just wondering why it was removed since I was the last person to post in it. I was only making sure *I* didn't post something the broke the forum rules. Which I know I didn't, so I'm not worried about it, just curious, that's all.

With all due respect Chucky, nobody "demanded" anything. There was no controversy in that thread at all. It was a topic that had been dead for over a week. I was just poking a little fun at somebody. The topic was still there for anyone to comment on.
There has been more controversy, and far more insulting opinions posted in the political threads than what me and PoP were doing.

What ever gave you the idea you were responsible?
Did you receive any private messages or e-mails regarding any deletions? More importantly, were you banned from this forum?
No, you didn't and no, you weren't.
There's no need for you to get defensive.
Perhaps no one in this open forum demanded anything, but you have no knowledge of personal messages; therefore, you should refrain from falsely assuming that nobody "demanded" anything.
If you're following the Forum Guidelines, you shouldn't have to worry. If you're just being curious, you should invest your energies elsewhere.

Maybe this thread should be locked.  ???
With every additional post, more attention is heaped upon a thread that was deleted.  :-\\

well, I'm sure most people don't know who or what it was... though I guess the curiosity factor is increasing
I'm not upset at anyone or anything, sorry it came off sounding that way.
