Those are the new names for the positions. When you start out, your position is "Wheezy"; when you get to 25 posts it's "McVitie"; it's like a ranking in terms of how many posts you have. I'm currently at "Tuxedo Sam", which is where you'll be when you get a thousand posts. On the old board, the rankings went from "White-flippered penguin" to "Royal Penguin"; Chucky changed those names for the new board.

That goes in the "Custom Title" field, which you can access by clicking on your profile. If you click on your profile, then click on "Forum Profile Information" (in the left sidebar), and scroll down to the bottom, you'll see a field called "Custom Title." That's where you can put a word or phrase to appear above your ranking.

I remember referencing a favourite academically-orientated penguin species site which aided when the different species (Rockhopper, Fairy, Little Blue, Royal, Emperor, usw) were used.
I'm not sure where that site is at the moment, but the complete species list can be found here:

You need about 6,096 more. First you must become Badtz Maru, which happens at 5,000. Feathers McGraw happens at 10,000.

That's right; 10,000 is the next plateau; the ranking there is "Feathers McGraw." Mark (RockandRollfan) has passed the 15,000 mark, which is Chilly Willy. (I have about 1,383 more before I get there.) I would imagine there's at least a couple more rankings after that. :-\\

Hmmm.... guess Opus is the highest level; there doesn't seem to be one beyond that. I kinda thought there might've been one more at 50K; Phil and I have both reached that plateau, but we're both still Opus.

Well i'got ahead a long long way from wheezy to tuxedo, never mind, the only thing i hope it's that Sam gives to me a lotta fun.
this is the say that I went to blow out, but now tuxedo is history
I've got a bit odd recently, since I read in here, I think there's no cure to messing about,and since I'm an sailor I won't much problem to reach an OctoPUS
the best whole thing's being on the road
with some good friends cheering toasts
