List things you would do if you went back in time to your birth year.
Watch the 1990 Nintendo World Championships
Visit the World Trade Center and take a lot of pictures
Visit East Germany and Eastern Europe and take a lot of pictures
Take a lot of pictures of my local neighborhood

Visit the World Trade Center
As much as I find 1999 as a very interesting year, I could've watched most of the stuff they had on YouTube. So it doesn't seem like a lot that I could experience. Plus, the culture was still there until 2005/06.

Because everyone probably uploaded what they watched back in 1999 on YouTube. Not to mention that everyone's extremely nostalgic about it, so I wouldn't be worried about collecting everything from that year alone.

Oh. You could've put that in bold, so I could know what you're saying in context. I thought you were talking about the whole post, so I thought you said why wouldn't I experience 1999. But to answer your question, there was honestly a lot of 2000s culture that began during 1999. Stuff like The Sopranos, Spongebob, and a few Cartoon Network shows (that aired as pilots) began their original runs. Their spotlight did went out around 2005/2006, which is why I said that.
