Subject: Deal...or No Deal?
Written By: nondiva234 on 07/03/09 at 10:13 pm
Okay, I got a request for someone to replay the game again. So I'll do it just for Jeff, and for anyone else who wishes to play. You ready to play, Jeff? Even though the show is cancelled and the models are out of work (minus Patricia and Tameka, who are doing fine on the syndicated show), I've brought them back to play one more game. Here we go, Jeff. 26 lovely models, holding 26 identical cases, with 26 different amounts of money. We don't know what is in which case, but we do know that one case will be holding the top prize of $1,000,000!

Does the banker still make phonecalls?
Yes. He has to do that in order to let the emcee know the amount of the deal; the emcee then passes this info on to the contestant.

Case #11 lady: The name's Katie. Don't you remember?
Sorry; you guys were on a long hiatus. Anyways, Jeff, you have case 11 as your lucky briefcase. Why don't you open six more cases to verify that $1,000,000 is in your case 11?

Hey...on a similar note, on the Disney Channel original sitcom, Sonny With A Chance, there is a fictional show called "Meal Or No Meal", which is an obvious spoof of "Deal Or No Deal."

I'm still curious as to what's inside the cases that I've decided to open. Whatever is in those, is not in the case I've selected. Hopefully we'll soon find out.

Don't worry Frank, I got it. :D
To the cases! Number 19. Amanza, it's you who's holding the case. It's too bad we didn't get to know you much, what with a long hiatus and now cancellation. Open the case while you're at it. :)
Amanza: Good start!
$300
Very good, Jeff. :) Moving on to number 3 and the lovely Lisa, our veteran who's now out of a job. Maybe you could be one of the case-holders on the daytime program. At least you have a chance of winning money, and you can do what you're a pro at doing. :)
Lisa: Sounds like a good idea.
Let's open the case in the meantime.
Lisa: Not bad!
$5,000
Ditto. :) On to 24. Kelly, you're also out of a job. Have you considered what I told Lisa?
Kelly: Yeah, but wouldn't the producers be suspicious if we all started appearing on the show?
True, but be sporadic. They won't know. Open the case for now.
$75
We're doing very fine, Jeff! Let's knock on wood so as to not jinx this. On to 10 and another veteran out of a job, Anya.
Anya: Well, actually I'm hosting with Lindsay HDNet's Get Out!, so I'm very much not jobless at the moment.
Ah yes, I remember now! How was Belize?
Anya: Fantastic!
Good to hear. Open the case, please.
Anya: ¡Muy bien!
$750
Going good so far! To number 6 and Megan, who's also been here since the beginning. How's it going?
Megan: It goes good. Too bad viewership went down on our version, and now 24 of us aren't on the show anymore. I'm gonna miss getting my boobs taped together so they look the same as all the other models.
You're very right, though. They do in fact do that. Open the case, please.
Megan: Not bad.
$75,000
Could be better. Last case is Marisa and 18. You were Desperate Housewives and Dexter, I hear?
Marisa: Yes, I was.
Good to still see you on TV. Please open the case.
Marisa: Not bad, Jeff.
$10,000
An excellent round! I suspect a good offer coming your way!

A very nice looking board, Jeff. (phone rings) Uh oh, it's Banker Time. Let's see what he has to say via Speakerphone.
Banker: Well, it looks like we have a newbie to the this game. I can guarantee you that beginner's luck will be non-existent after this round. You were lucky, I'll hand that to you, but I recommend you take my offer of $77,000 and get the hell out! And don't go crying to mommy and daddy if you knock out all your large amounts later in the game. (click)
Josh: Harsh words. Anyways, Jeff. A good round, a good offer. Accept $77,000; it is yours. Say No Deal, we're opening up 5 cases before you can be offered some more (hopefully bigger) cash. So: Deal...or No Deal?

Jeff: Well, I'm glad I kept all the six-figure amounts in play. (By the way, I'm 29 years old, from southern California, looking for work. Not much else to say about me right now.) Anyho, $77,000 is a lotta money...but not large enough. So I'm gonna have to say...
NO DEAL!
So when you get back, I need to open up 5 more cases. Should I do it now, or wait til you get back?

$400,000
Ouch. Not good, but we've still got them million dollars in play. To 26 and Lindsay. Open the case.

Banker: I've got a hammer here in hand.
Ha ha; funny. Hope you note the sarcasm.
Banker: To Mr. Jeff here now. You hit a big amount that round. I hope that fortells a bad game for you. Take this offer and run, I tell ya. Seriously. Look at me! Oh wait, you can only see a silhouette of me. Never mind, scrap that idea. My offer is $91,000.
A pretty good offer. Again, you do have the big odds, based on your board, of winning big. Wanna go on? Then say No Deal; it's four cases to open should you proceed. Or you can opt out of the game now. So Jeff: Deal...or No Deal?

9 is held by Patricia, who we see every weekday on the syndicated version. You finally get to open a case of your own after a while! Open the case, please.
Patricia: Nice!
$1,000
On we go in hope of low amounts. To 21 and Tameka, who still has a job with the show as well. Open the case, please!
Tameka: You on a hot roll right now!

Cross your fingers, Jeff. We could be giving away a million this game! To 2 and Stacey. Unfortunately, we don't see her weekdays. Isn't that a shame?

Your board is amazing! But there's that big leap there from $500 to $100,000. It may be wise to avoid opening the low high amounts just to avoid increasing the leap there. (phone rings) Anyways, I'm expecting six-figures right now. Banker?
Banker: Sigh. Yes, Jeff, you're getting your damned six figure amount. How about $156,000? That oughta do the trick!
The Banker is smart, Jeff, but I know that you're smarter. Lots of money he's offering you. As the French might say: "cent cinquante-six mille dollars." Or as the Spanish would say: "ciento cincuenta y seis mil dólares." Take it, or open another three cases before the Banker can give you a fourth offer. Deal...or No Deal?
Subject: Re: Deal...or No Deal?
Written By: nally on 08/14/09 at 12:35 am
Six figures...that is a nice amount, Mr. Banker...but not decent enough, I don't think. If I say deal right now, I might regret it...but if I say no deal, chances are I might open up some of the big amounts, since I would need to open three cases. But again, I could knock out all the little amounts.
Gee, this does require a lot of careful thought. If I had family members in the audience right now, they'd probably give me mixed signals. Some of them would probably shout, "Deal! Deal!", and others would say the opposite.
But I'm going to make up my mind.
NO DEAL!

(phone rings) I anticipate bad news. Hello, Banker.
Banker: Actually, this isn’t bad news after all. I’m actually going to make an interesting deal with Jeff here.
Listen here, Jeff. This is what I’m going to offer you. If you decide to stop the game right now and say Deal, I’ll offer you $99,000. But if you say No Deal, there will be a whole new dimension to this game.
Should you say No Deal, you will be committing yourself to donating a portion of your winnings to me. How much depends on whether or not you beat me at my own game. If your valued case is higher than the offer you have dealt at, then I will take 50% of your winnings, no matter how big or small. If your valued case is smaller than the offer you have taken, I will only take 5% of your winnings. If you make it to the end, the rules are the same: 50% if you win the smaller valued case or 5% if you win the higher valued case. The only exception will be the $1,000,000, of which I will not take any money away.
Here’s hoping it’s a lose-lose situation for you, Jeff. Whaddya say?
Josh: Wow, I’ve never seen the Banker do something like this before! Are you willing to go on, Jeff? Remember that you need to play a perfect game so the Banker won’t take your fortune away. Of course, there’s the $99,000 on the table for you to quit right now. So: Deal…or No Deal?
Subject: Re: Deal...or No Deal?
Written By: nally on 09/07/09 at 12:49 am
Oh no!! Only two of the big amounts are still in play!! :o
Of course, if I say no deal, that means I have to open two more cases. And there's the chance I'd knock out the two big amounts in the process. What to do, what to do?? $99,000 is a lot of money to risk here.
After contemplating the situation, I will opt for...
NO DEAL!
I'm taking my chances. Cases 17 and 8, please.

Banker: Take my offer of $291,000 and run. But think carefully; you may be walking out of here with $145,500 if you make a bad deal.
Josh: Your highest offer so far, Jeff. By a longshot! Lots of money out here! But you have the million. Do you think it's in your case? If it is but you take an earlier offer, you lose half your winnings. But there's also the chance that you may hit a landmine amount. Then again, it's only one case to open from here on out. Hate to play the Devil's Advocate, but that's how the game is looking right now. So, Jeff: Deal...or No Deal?
Subject: Re: Deal...or No Deal?

Okay, I kept the two top amounts in play. Good! So if I say No Deal, I will only need to open one case. In that event, I would for sure keep one of the big amounts in play (or perhaps both). There are six cases left, so there is a 33 1/3% chance that my case holds a big amount (which is a pretty good odds).
NO DEAL!
Yep, I'm going to take one more risk.
Which case do I want to open? How about Number 25. Please be the five-dollar case.

Again, I apologize for the long wait. I can blame it on school. But here we go.
Hayley, you're holding number 25. And I see that you're sitting down. Understandable, and I apologize. If you wouldn't mind standing for five seconds and opening the case, that would be great.
Hayley: Can do. :)
$750,000
Hayley: On the bright side, you still have the million dollars.
She's right, but we may see a decrease in the offer.

$750,000
Ack! :o
Hayley: On the bright side, you still have the million dollars.
That is true...but I still have a slim chance of hitting it if I say no deal to the next offer.
She's right, but we may see a decrease in the offer.
Yep, sure looks like it. Lay it on me, Mr. Banker.

$5
$25
$50
$500
$1,000,000
Case chosen:
Cases in the gallery: , , ,
Previous offers:
$291,000
$99,000
$156,000
$91,000
$77,000
(phone rings) As the song goes, break it to him gently, Banker.
Banker: As if I would! Your offer is now at $200,000. I hope you remember the little deal we made. You still have the million, and if it's in your case, I get 100 Gs if you accept this offer. I'm so good at tempting people!
Josh: It went down for obvious reasons, but you're still at a nice round six-digit figure. One case to open if you refuse the offer. I must remind you that you lack a safety net, so proceeding will be a huge risk. Jeff: Deal...or No Deal?

Ooh...I'm in a tight situation here. If I had people in the audience cheering me on, they'd probably tell me to say DEAL right now. $200K is a nice sum of money (and I could use some in real life too, lol).
What to do, what to do...
Still thinking....
Oh gosh, if I say no deal, I have a 1-in-5 chance of hitting the million in whatever case number I select to have opened. And if I do that, then the next offer will for sure lack a comma, and I'll regret having made that decision. OTOH, the odds are greater in knocking out one of the tiny amounts. Still, that puts me in a precarious situation.
Still pondering........
Gotta go with my gut here.
Okay...
DEAL!

$200,000 is yours! I like the sound of that; it rolls off my tongue perfectly. Now, here's the hard part, Jeff. If you had said No Deal to $200,000, what case would you have opened?

I would have chosen number 1.

Well? What would have been inside that case? ???
I saw on your profile that you were on here last night but you didn't reply.

I would have picked number 20.

Inside case 20:
$5
Oh no! And the offer would have catapulted to:
$367,000
The Banker may have the last laugh, Jeff. Had you continued, which case from 4 and 13 would you have chosen?

In case 13:
$25
Ouch! And the offer would have been...
$501,000
Your case may have $500, meaning you'll leave here $190,000 richer, or your case may have $1,000,000, meaning you're leaving here $100,000 richer. What's it going to be? You sold case #11 for $200,000. And inside the case is:
$50
Excellent! You made a good deal! $190,000 is yours! And in case 4:
$1,000,000
Thanks for playing, Jeff. I apologize for this game taking so long. But I hope you enjoyed playing it. :)

$190,000? I thought I took the deal for $200k?? ??? Whatever the deal is, I'm perfectly fine with it, cuz I walked away at the right time.
Yeah, I had fun playing it, even if it did take longer than expected. :)
