Subject: Spot the Cow Bell
Written By: ultraviolet52 on 10/03/07 at 4:25 pm
Often times you hear a song using a cow bell in it. Most notably, Don't Fear the Reaper (Blue Oyster Cult).
Well, I have found others using it as well, and here's one to start the list:
Couldn't Get It Right - Climax Blues Band

On the second listening it sounded more like the cymbals.

I thought it was cymbals as well, but never really listebed that closely. It is the "single" version of Let it be, or the "Let it be...naked" version?

I'm gonna go listen to it with Bose headphones. those things isolate individual instruments wonderfully and I'll come back with my report

I'm pretty sure now that it's not a cowbell. sounds like a cymbal, but a higher sound, almost like a triangle but probably just the type of symbol used.

...with the recording microphone to close to the triangle amplifying the sound?
