Subject: Link These Four Songs

A common radio game (though they play the song rather than tell you its name). What is the main theme/idea common to these four songs? It can be anything (that works). Such as a theme, recurring words (but not in the titles, of course), songs by artists from a country, songs from the 70s...you name it...
I'll start off. Once you answer correctly (if the author doesn't respond quickly, then just start a new one anyway), start off another four.
For instance,
Been Caught Stealing, Who Let the Dog's Out, Hound Dog, Black Dog...
That one's really obvious, so here for a harder one.
1. You're So Vain - Carly Simons
2. Over the Hills and Far Away - Led Zeppelin
3. Clair - Gilbert O'Sullivan
4. Starman - David Bowie/Ziggy Stardust

Yeah, they all have to do with dogs (actually, the first one has dogs barking at the beginning)

I can connect two of these, for You're So Vain by Carly Simon is allegedly based on another person that being Warren Beatty and Gilbert O'Sullivan's Clair is based on another person, his niece or his producer's daughter he used to babysit for. Are other people referred in Starman and Over The Hills And Far Away?
