Gig Harbor, Washington. 40 miles SW of Seattle. The town I grew up in, a beautiful place. Named during the Captian George Vancouver expedition and upon the discovery of the location they couldn't bring the big ship in so that had to launch a small "gig" boat to enter the harbor.
See the address below if you want to take a look.

Ahh Race! What a glorious looking place. Lovely.
Rockhampton, Queensland (This is the town I grew up in from 10 onwards. Called the beef capital of Australia for the perfect conditions for beef growing. At either end of the city are two magnificent cement Brahmans to celebrate its fame. Unfortunately vandals are constantly breaking off the bulls testicles causing a never ending council nightmare!)

Thank you HD, and darn sorry to hear about those bulls nethers :o, thank goodness they aren't living. A beautiful place as well.
Here is my current and figure to be my last home town, Seattle whick is the largest city in the state and home to a tech development and overpriced real estate. More boats per capita than any place in the world. Jimmi Hendrix was born here along with "grunge" music. See the address below for a good shot of downtown taken from the Space Needle.

What are the rules? I looked at the beginning of the thread and all it said was a new rule that there had to be some info about the town.
Thanks and apologies to anyone for breaking any rules, but hey it was fun and interesting. :)
