i've only played 5 of the 16 there are, and my favorite wasn't based off any of the books, but was a new mystery: 'Message in a Haunted Mansion'.

i didn't like the recent movie. part of what i didn't like about it is that for the third time, they chose an actress with BROWN hair and BROWN eyes to play Nancy! They did that two times already--in the TV series from the 70's, and the very short lived one from the 90's. Nancy has always been potrayed as having blonde or titian hair with blue eyes in the books.

but i did like that they kind of poked fun at how prim and perfect Nancy was potrayed as being in the books from the 60's and 70's.

the films that were released in the 40's were okay, but the way they potrayed Nancy was WAY off!

from 1930 to the 1940's, she is aged from 16 to 18. when the first 34 books were revised, she was made to be always 18.

Do you think maybe they cast a brunette in film adaptations because they didn't think a smart blonde would be beleivable?

I think it's silly to base intelligence on a hair color if that was indeed thier motive.  >:(

No, I don't think so. I guess they just chose who they thought was the most talented actress, which I understand, but I know there are blonde/titian haired, blue eyed talented actresses out there. Or else they could of just dyed thier hair...
