Yes I plan on starting next fall, wherever I live. It won't be here. My dad is either going to move to Biloxi, Mississsippi or Savannah, Georgia. He'll go to MS if this big contract to paint apartments damaged by the hurricane comes through, and he'll be going to GA if it doesn't because he likes the coast and my brother is moving there. My brother works at a Target distribution center, and hes being trained to become a trainer. They want to transfer him there for the new job.

As you know I plan on rooming with my best friend, and if I can talk him into coming to wherever me and my dad are rather than Dallas, I will. If not I'll probably live in Dallas until I get my Associate in C.A. and then figure out where to go. I don't plan on staying in Texas.

As far as looks go I can't really give you a specific look. I think when it comes to attractiveness, there are certain archetypes each of us have in our subconcious that we tend to go for, usually based on someone else we've seen in the past and found attractive. I've noticed myself do this.

As far as personality she'd be kind-hearted, patient, be a mix between a homebody and someone who likes to go out and do stuff(like me), she'd have a sense of humor that meshed with mine(raunchy, obscure), progressive-minded rather than a traditionalist, and freaky(like me).

You know, I haven't grilled out very much. But the few times I have, I enjoyed it.

I don't have a specialty really. Once I get more experience doing it I'm sure I'll come up with a few things. Bobby Flay does a lot of great stuff on the grill.

I see on your description that you are pro union.  Is your fathers painting operation a union shop??

I know in many areas of Texas and Oklahoma the illegals are ruining the trades, and painting is one of them....

Why would a 2 man operation not be union??

In times of needing more manpower, the local hall can be called to fill the additional requirements...and they can simply be laid off when the slow times happen.

Being a small operation doesn't mean that the union should be overlooked.....I'm pretty sure that all required of the contractor is to be licensed, bonded and insured....

Because theres no reason for two people working for themselves to unionize. who would they strike against? themselves? Its ludicrous.

Merely a thought. Unions aren't just for a show of solidarity in the event of strikes.  They're about workplace safety, compliance with OSHA regs, MSDS right to know, fair labor practices, etc....much more than a show of force in the event of a strike.

Perhaps.  I've seen many small crews in various stages of a project, very seldom is there a single crew around, usually there are a couple trades working in fairly close quarters at once.

If, for instance an HVAC crew was working and suddenly had a leak of a refrigerant and a person dropped from oxygen deprivation, would the ambulance crews have an MSDS available in order to treat the patient correctly??  The MSDS would tell them proper procedures.

Granted, this would have nothing to do with a 2 man operation being unionized, but for the cost of the dues, and the wealth of knowledge available to them by being part of the union, just might make it worth the additional expense.

I also think that if they were union, they may have representation in the event of running into illegals on job sites, something I know is rampant in Oklahoma and many parts of Texas, especially in the D/FW area...
