It's not necessarily a bad album, it's just very weak.. the arrangements are frequently irritating or uninteresting.. lyrically, it's a pretty good album.. but with They Might Be Giants, I just can't pardon the sometimes-poor musicianship like I can with, say, Daniel Johnston or Seth Putnam.

Straightedges, ham sandwiches, mustard, punks, skaters, kids who drink alcohol and justify it with their parents being pricks, people who worship everything bands do even though it sucks on occasion, The Flaming Lips' album "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots", Refering to a B flat as A sharp, the sound of trumpets, babies, toddlers that swear, speech impediments, mean cats that aren't declawed, metaphors in poetry/music referencing "broken wings", the South Pole clothing line, refering to remote controls as 'clickers', vacuums as 'sweepers', lunch as 'dinner', dinner as 'supper', old people and slow people in the fast lane, skater hair, people who show about 15 inches of underwear for very little reason, people who tuck their non-dress shirts in and wear belts, baseball caps, expensive prices of snacks at movie theaters, the fact Law and Order: SVU comes on at 10 o'clock instead of 9, Honors Pre-Calc, Dominic being so incredibly ghey, The fact that ? and the Mysterians released one great song and a ton of sucky ones, the fact they found OJ the next day, but they never found Tupac and Biggie's murders, Whitey, people with their penises in my face, the word 'vaginal', the word 'secretion', the words 'vaginal' and 'secretion' in some horrible combination, the fact they never stop raising lunch prices...

That's a small sampling of what I dislike without me really trying. I could write you a book if I really sat down and thought it out.

I prefer it because I was taught Baritone first, in which that note is all valves open. I was taught to refer to it as B flat. I can deal with A sharp, it just takes a second to process compared to B flat, which I can instantly identify.

Strangely, I prefer sharps otherwise in all other situations.

My piano teacher prefers sharps too, actually.. she said there's really no difference in which you prefer, it's mostly just based on which one your teacher put more emphasis on for which is easier, and your preference in the symbol for which you like for which you prefer as well.
