Well, early this morning someone recorded the 15,000th score in the arcades here. The actual number is probably far greater - many a time I didn't send the score if it sucked.

Ah yes, I'm surprised my name's there. I've been champion of 3 games (used to be 4, lost one), and nearly champion of countless ones. My high totals comes from the sheer number of times I tried playing copter, and NEARLY beat whistledog's score.  >:(

Anyway, good effort.

That's right, you get more points for pairing off two of the same number...but I didn't know if color made a difference or not. :-\\

I think you do, but don't hold me to it...I am just guessing. Maybe Jason or one of the other avid players knows the answer to this.

More points if the same colour.

You get 500 points if you match numbers in order.  You get 1,500 points if you match same numbers, and you get double the point value for matching the colours. 

The trick when making moves is to look at the row in behind, for the pieces you currently have in play could be used to clear the next row.  If you can make a match of pairs, quickly see if maybe there is a better way to use one of those pairs to clear more numbers away, otherwise you'll be adding more penguins and risk the chance of running out of moves

If you can clear boards in 20 seconds or less, you're on your way to a great score O0

True. But I tried just now and actually got 2,500 points for pairing two same-colored, same-numbered penguins. So not quite double the point value.
