The weirdest thing happened. I realized that the boards were back up so both Carlos & I got on (on different computers). Carlos was able to get on but after a while, he got a message that said, "Maintenance mode" as I was able to access it. Can't understand why I could and he couldn't.

His computer or his browser still has the old site's web address in it's cache. Restarting the browser or the computer might fix that.
I was going to wait until tonight to begin the upgrade, but then I realized I accidentally started the process of pointing people to the new server already.
Went smoother than expected, although amiwrong.com is still not working right. I can't seem to determine why either.

it's probably because few people can see it still >grin<
I went from a single hard drive, to two hard drives in a RAID 1 array. Doubled the memory, and went from a dual-core processor to a quad-core processor.

I think amIwrong is now fixed. I'm just feeling my way through the setup process. Hopefully I can cancel the old server tomorrow so I can avoid renting it for another billing period.

I'm testing the site backup scripts now, to make sure I can do a regular backup properly... and the site still seems fast. nice.
