In our attempt to ease congestion on the forum and server, it has been brought to our attention that the bandwidth for images could also be bogging down the server.

Now, of course we have no proof that this is a problem, however we would like your help in this cause.

We ask that when you quote, if an image is included, please delete the image from the quote before posting. We also ask that you try and limit the number of images you post or link to on a daily basis.

We would like to try this for a little while, to see if it eases the problems of accessing the site. We are aware that when Chucky updates, sometimes there is lag, but we also get the errors when he isn't doing anything at all. If it proves to be indifferent, then we will go back to normal.

Single Board Moderators - we ask that you help us as well, by watching for quoted images and editing them as well.

This is one more reason why I have been posting most of my pictures as attachments. Thanks, mods.

We are only allotted so much room for those to begin with that I doubt very much they will make a difference. Good idea though Philip. 8)

BTW, which is the best (or better) way to post images, as an attachment of as in image posted with {img}{/img} (differnent paraphrases used here to demonstrate) ?

Right now it is better to post images either as attachment or URL link to the image.
With the URL link, the image stays on whoevers server it is on and doesn't bother with ours at all. ;)

To clarify - when I said URL link to the image, I mean like this:  http://www.inthe00s.com/avatars_custom/avatar_2122.png
and not using tags. ;)
