I've got to see if I can write a mod to show me what is running when that occurs. the new server should be fast enough to handle all the site traffic, so it really baffles me that it still shows up once or twice a month.

mine went completely dead for a couple minutes, I could access the internet, but not inthe00s

I had a feeling it was the statistics software, and just got an email that confirmed it.  I don't even use the stats generated for the server, so I've disabled them.  Let's see if that perks things up a bit.

I was going through all my posts with attachments and deleting them - and when I noticed that there were still ones left by non-members, I was deleting those too. Weird though because it never locked up for me. :-\\

yeah, it was definitely something with managing the avatars... the software kind of stinks at running a good log of events like that, so not sure what you did to trigger it.

not sure you need to delete attachments... though maybe it wouldn't hurt...  5 years worth of attachments does add up, and I have to keep it all backed up, etc.

I went form around 2004 - 2006 so far with non-members, and when the forum gave that error, I was still loading pages perfectly fine. That is the bizarre part. Normally if Philip gets the error, I get it too.

had to restart the server completely... I was able to log in and grab the last few commands that were taking excessively long to execute for reasons unclear to me.  Logged another ticket, but no idea if I'll even get anything useful from the support team.

Just got on the boards now after trying since about 10.00 p.m.

I don't think it needs to be reported at this point.  The most useful thing is for when Tam spots them to send me the output from the script I have to monitor the server (if the server isn't too busy to respond)

weird time of the day for it... I think the software occasionally during a slow spurt will do optimization stuff on it's tables, which means when someone shows up it grinds down to a halt.

If you click on 'started by' it puts the whole of that area into alphabetical order.  If you want to 'jump' through the pages you sometimes have to click on that again to resort it.

You can probably also sort by 'views' and 'replies'

I've been having issues from work all morning myself.  I also couldn't reach the hosting company's homepage though, so I'm assuming it's a network issue, and not the server in particular.

Judging from the service email I got last night, yeah the hosting company had issues with some kind of network hardware.  Seems to be fine now anyways.

that's really really weird.... because I thought the faster server would solve that issue fer sure. and the time of the day it happened is really weird too.

surprised it hasn't been spotted more often, I kinda screwed up when changing a couple scripts yesterday and really stressed the heck out of the server.  Not sure if that was one of the times though.

no problem... an easy way to check is to look at the time it takes to build the page at the end of every page on inthe00s, if it's more than a second, it's definitely on the server's side of things.

4:40 I just signed on here and got my first Internal Server Error message which said The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.  Got on a minute or two later and am here now. whatever

Around 20 minutes ago, inthe00s became very slow in uploading pages and at one stage would not load up at all.

The pages back then would not even downloading, as if the website did not exist.

I got an alert from my hosting provider.... there was a bunch of processes stuck on.  No idea what caused it.  If it happens again I'll have to look into it more I guess.

It is quite possible that it is due to this winter storm. The Boston area is under blizzard warnings. I'm not sure where the server is located but I'm sure Chucky is getting socked pretty hard by this storm.
