I'm hosting everything now (amiright, inthe80s, etc) on the same server instead of having one server for the regular websites and one for the messageboard sites. So far it looks like the server is keeping up ok with the user load.
I know traffic is down both because of the move and the fact that it is now summer and traffic tends to decline on my sites during June/July/August. Though it appears traffic wasn't down by much before the server crash last week, so I'm willing to bet it's down due to the crash more than anything else.
The 403 errors in the game section should be a thing of the past too.

The old server was a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ (1995.406MHz)
The new one is a Dual-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 2220 SE (2800.750MHz)
I've been watching the performance of the system since I moved the messageboard, and the new one is hosting what used to be on two of the old servers on a single one, and doing it faster.

It does seem to be a bit faster. I haven't seen any 403 errors yet

It might be slow for a little while now, since I'm testing my backup procedures.
It's still much better than the old setup. Glad I spent the money, sorry I didn't do it sooner.

Hard to tell for me: my computer has been really slow the past few days. However, the arcade loaded in just under six seconds, which is the fastest I've seen it in quite some time.

It seems like it might be a touch faster for me.
Of course the arcade still takes a bit but not as much as it used to! 8)

the arcade speed has something to do with either the number of games in there, or a poorly configured one. The creators of the mod aren't too useful in helping to track it down either.

Is it me or is it the server very slow today, it is taking a while for the page to be download properly and a time to send a reply?

It just went all slow seconds ago and came up with Page Not Found etc.

I was getting those page not found errors as well

Is it just my computer or is the site slow? Everything was working fine and then it started to really slow down. I even closed everything out and rebooted but it is still slow.

odd. seems normal now.
I think yesterday the slow down was caused by a huge spike in traffic from yahoo to an old thread about the worst movies. It was a page in the archives, not even on the main board. Strange that it didn't result in anyone checking out the current board.

It is stil slow right now, but it can be quicker on Firefox.

Just to report, it is much quicker on IE now.
