due to the amount of spam, a CAPTCH (those annoying number/letter things you see everywhere) is now required when signing up for an account or guest posting. Regular members will not need to enter it.

I hate typing those dumb CAPTCHA codes as much as everybody else, but had to do it before the spam got further out of control.

It will not stop spammers, but delay them a few seconds?
Nonetheless, I think it is a good idea 8)

if it hampers the ignoramuses who are accosting us mercilessly about gas prices, i'll be happy.
did you know inthe00s is single-handedly responsible for $3.50-a-gallon gas? it's a little known fact.

If it doesn't stop spam, I'm sure it will make people want to join instead. Pain having to write that out after each post. ::)
