I tried re-uploading all the source code, since I couldn't find this character anywhere in the source code (well, one spot, but it belonged there).  If it keep showing up in new posts (after the time of this one) let me know.

Buddies are disabled at the moment.  It's a modification to the software, and the author hasn't updated it for the new version yet.  I really needed the new functions in this software, so I upgraded before that was released.

like mailboxes or something,  you can define a label and then assign it to messages you haven't deleted.

I just noticed that when you click on the "View the most recent posts on the forum", it now lists 10 pages of replies instead of just one...for 100 replies total. Thanks for the feature, Chuck! 8)

Hey, what happened to the buddy lists? Did they get deleted or something? I'm asking that because I just now noticed that my buddies weren't showing up in blue. :-bold text instead of blue.

Check reply #10.  It is in the post Max quoted, not his actual post.  I am using IE6.  I just checked it on Mozilla Firefox and it shows up as a black triangle with a question mark in the center.  Again, only in the quoted posts.

It just did it in my post...am I the only one that can see it?  It wasn't there before I edited the post just after.

the nbsp comes in when you double space - I just figured it out today

and when you modify it by deleting one of the spaces, it seems to depend on which one you delete

I think it shows up in the quote boxes. (But not on this browser, which is Safari on a mac computer. I normally use Internet Explorer on a Windows computer, and it's been showing up there.)

I thought it was mainly after someone did a smiley but then there's a weird post where someone did loads of spaces and they all appeared as nbsp;

I don't usually preview my posts and I've had it showing up.  Sometimes in the post itself and sometimes when the post is quoted although the original post is fine.   :-\\

I can see loads in the post above, before the words "like this perhaps?"

You must be using a Mac computer. It still shows up as a ¦ character for me. (If you're using a computer with a Windows operating system, you can type that character by holding down the "alt" key, typing "0166" on the numeric keypad (on the right hand side of the keyboard), then releasing alt.)

IE is the nbsp thingie and Firefox is the diamond thingy for me.

  It's the encoding used that determines which symbol shows up, not the system or browser. I get either by switching between Unicode or Western European.

I've put in a third help request to the messageboard software provider.

it's definitely a bug with the site software.  How it shows up on your particular browser isn't really important, so much that it does show up at all.  The support people know of it, they just don't have a solution worked out yet.

strange... I didn't do anything to fix it.  I guess adding a new board helped straighten it out.
