Subject: Sticky Thread?
When I look at the bottom of the page I see the familiar thread icons, but what is this "sticky thread"?

That would be a thread that the poster (as far as I know it can only be used by mods or admins) wants to remain on top even though other threads get posted to. Usually mods use it to post topics like forum rules etc.

exactly... There will be no more than one or two threads that ever get a sticky anyways, so you need not worry about it too much
It's a standard feature in most messageboards. This one however, is such an early version of the software, that it didn't come with it, so I added it yesterday when I did the voting option. If/when I upgrade, those features are all now included with the newer versions.
