I am trying to tread a fine line between mentioning it and sounding like I am complaining.  

The Fast-slow-fast continues to plague me as well as some other members I am aware of, but I don't see anyone else mentioning it.

At present it is taking me around 30 to 60 secs to change screens.

I have noticed the exact same thing!  It's so frustrating when it shows that somebody has posted a new reply and yet you can't view it!  >:(

it could be the webserver, it does appear to be a little slower at busy times of the day. I'm using it right now at 9am on a Sunday, and everything is very quick for me. I don't have a dialup Internet provider though, so the site is usually quite quick.

I have been trying to understand more about the internals of the webserver I run on.. I'm totally responsible for it's maintenance (unlike previous hosting companies that took care of most of that stuff), so things like perfomance are strictly up to me..

Right now, I've broken my ability to log in as the admin of my individual sites, I can only log in as the admin of the server, so I can't even check my personal email. I've been working on trying to make the site more secure, but I've also been trying to improve the perfomance. It might take me a while, since I'm not a linux master, and I don't know UNiX very well..

pages might load quicker for you, if you disable things like avatars and signatures.. go into your profile and look at the "fast load" options section.. check them all and see if things work better for you.. it'll make the pages smaller, and quicker to load..
