Subject: time?
i'm just wondering if there's anyway to adjust the time in the profiles? i had a really difficult time resetting the hours, and i don't want to mess around with the minutes, for the sake of screwing things up...any help's appriciated. danke.
Subject: Re: time?
You can adjust the time by simply entering either + (number of hours) or - (number of hours) that the board is ahead/behind your time. You can't do the minutes but you get used to the board technically being 10 minutes behind.

yes.. I didn't automate it though.. I'll just try and keep an eye on it.. maybe next time I have to play with my cron jobs I'll add it.. basically, I haven't set the time since I moved to this server.. actually, it was a little later than that (people were complaining when I moved to YABB, since it was way more obvious), maybe a year or so.. ten minutes of drift in a year isn't great, but it could be worse I suppose..
Subject: Re: time?
You know I always set my computer clock with a shortwave radio. There is a station on shortwave that always gives the correct time, and it's found at 2.5, 5, 10, 15, and 20 MHz. This station comes from Fort Collins, CO. There is also a Canadian equivalent at 3.335, 7.335 and 14.670 MHz, but I prefer the American station. And lately, your clock has been about 10 minutes off…

rdate -s time.nist.gov
ain't no one more accurate in the US than these guys.. and considering they're a government agency, I find that hard to say, but I have to...
Subject: Re: time?

The time is consistently 11-12 minutes behind actual time, methinks.
