Subject: What fonts are supported???
Does anyone know what fonts are supported on this site? I know there is a button to choose/change the font used, and it defaults to Verdana. Every time I try to change it to something else, there is no change.
I see other people using some fancy fonts occasionally, so I'm guessing that the fonts I'm choosing are not supported by the site's software.

Hot Damn - this is a good question Xenacat !
I often wonder the same thing - when I click on the font button and change it nothing seems to happen .......
Help !
Subject: Re: What fonts are supported???
As you can see, I have typed this message in Lucida Handwriting. All you have to do is replace "Verdana" with a font you have.

That being my point at least Don, and I thought that of Xena...
Although you have changed the font - it looks exactly the same ?
FB ???

This reply is in Times New Roman. Maybe your browser doesn't support Lucida Handwriting or you don't have the Lucida Handwriting font loaded on your computer. But I bet you have Times New Roman…

Aha ! then..... ;)
Subject: Re: What fonts are supported???
I believe it uses the font tag for your browser in HTML.. so if you found a list of fonts that HTML tends to consider "stock" most people would be able to see your change.. I wouldn't rely on it exclusively (ie. if you use it, your message should still make sense as if you didn't use it).. but I'm sure it can be just as annoying (er, useful) as the other formatting things
Subject: Re: What fonts are supported???
I guess I just have to keep experimenting then. I've tried a few fonts that I have in my Word package, but there are no changes at all...must be an unsupported font.
I do have Times New Roman, and Verdana and Arial. I wanted to use Papyrus but that doesn't seem to work. The other one I've tried is Comic Sans MS, wich does work! ;D
Subject: Re: What fonts are supported???
Same type of question for colors. Hot pink and dark violet are not in the list but can be used. Are there other colors that aren't on the list also?

Papyrus seems to be working on this end, Kat

Steve, do you have Papyrus installed on your hard drive? Or is it from your ISP, or this site? I have it on my drive, but I think it's become corrupted. It isn't working in my Word documents now.
Subject: Re: What fonts are supported???
Tell me how to figure out if it's installed on my hard drive, Kat, and I'll let you know.
Subject: Re: What fonts are supported???
Assuming you're running a PC, and some version of Windows, it's in your Windows folder. The quickest way to get to it, is go to your "Start" button, and select "Find Files or Folders". Then type in "Fonts". It should be the first one to be pulled up.
When you open that folder, it will give you a list of all the fonts on your hard drive. The ones that have an icon that looks like two capital letter "T"s are your True Type fonts. Be careful. If you delete any here they are gone...

Yes, papyrus is installed on my hard drive
Subject: Re: What fonts are supported???
Ok, if you just posted that in the Papyrus font, I've figured out my problem. My font files are corrupted and I need to re-install. Your post appears to be the same font as everyone else's posts.
Cool. Knowing what my problem is, is halfway to getting it fixed. Thanks for the help!! :) :)

I posted it in Poor Richard, Kat.
Subject: Re: What fonts are supported???
So, for example, if I was to type something like, for example...
Does this font work?
Subject: Re: What fonts are supported???
I don't have the "Poor Richard" font, so I'm not sure what I should see. Your post looked like you had increased the font size, and used the bold command. Is that what it is?
I can see "Lucida Handwriting" and "Times New Roaman" which CrazyDon used earlier, and "Comic Sans" which I used earlier.
Bobo, what font were you trying to use?

That's another font I don't happen to have. I'm guessing I have to have a particular font installed in order to both see and post in it.
Thanks, Steve, CrazyDon and Bobo for the help!! :) :)

Now that I'm intrigued, Kat, did we answer the original question? What fonts are supported? If not, how do we find the answers?

And which colors?
Subject: Re: What fonts are supported???
As to the fonts, it seems I must have a font in order to see it. Steve, Bobo, and CrazyDon have all made posts to this thread in different fonts. The only ones I could see were the ones CrazyDon used, and not suprisingly it turns out they were the only fonts I actually have in working order on my hard drive.
It appears, then, that all fonts have the potential to be seen/supported by this site. The only limitation is whether or not my computer has the matching font, in order to recognize it.
I haven't had time to check out the colors, yet. I'm guessing it works on the same idea.
Unless Chucky has a list of colors somewhere, I would say the only way to know for sure is to make a post, then use the "preview" button to see what you get.
