Subject: ideas for amiright
I´m not sure if this would be doable but i thought maybe we could have a program here which says the overall rating of a song next to it (either after 3 votes or when its been up a couple of days) to give people some idea how viewworthy the song is before the read it.

I was thinking of adding the voting results next to each song title in the main indexes, but I'm not sure how much work that entails.. or were you thinking of something else?
Subject: Re: ideas for amiright
yeah, that is a pretty good idea.

I did this on the author pages, but I have no plans to do it on the indexes for now

Just a thought: would you be able to add a link to an author's page (if it exists) as part of your html creation code, so there's a quick jump to that page if you like the parody you're reading?
What I have done a couple of times recently is go to the parody author list, thence to search by author name to get a list of parodies from one author.

hmmm.. good idea.. I should be able to do something like that.. I think someone suggested this before (you perhaps?) but maybe with the author pages, I can do something more interesting now..

yup.. I spent a little time re-purposing the authors script, and I was able to reuse it for the new search function.. if you check the bottom of your parodies, you'll notice a link for "more parodies by this author"..
since it might still be buggy, and since I wrote it so quickly I'm sure it is, I made it a link at the bottom of the page instead of a high profile link at the top of the page (like the author's name). maybe if I feel more confident about the script later on, I can change that.

Yes - I suggested being able to pass parameters to the search page, so that you could automatically search on the current author. What you've done with the author pages is definitely better.

Thanks Chucky - I've just tried it out, and it works fine :-)

PS I thought I'd insert a link like that on my last submission, before I read this - so feel free to nuke it from my next parody (to "Script for a Jesters Tear") when you see it go past...
