Just curious, I came on right now, and I couldn't see it. I was wondering if it had gone missing in space. I've always loved to check up on what 80s news is currently happening from that board, and I came on now, and couldn't see it. Has it vanished? For good?

I believe it's gone for good. There wasn't enough traffic to justify having it. Besides, the front page of the site has much of the news anyway.  ;)  If I should come across any additional news, I'll just place it in the 80's messageboard.  :)

Thanks for the news, Hairspray. I didn't want to appear stupid by only just having noticed. I hope I didn't! Thanks for the information. Maybe they would do better in their various decade sections anyway, I don't know how many people read about the 80s news.

So that's what happened!!! I just posted a news story about Boy George's bar room brawl here mistakenly thinking it was the news section!!! Oh, well, I removed it and it's posted in the 80s section now!!!  :)

I got rid of the news for now.. I was hoping people would submit more links to news articles, and that the messageboard area would be where people could discuss them. The new configuration of the site though broke the posting of the articles on the front page and the messageboard, so there weren't many new messages in the area..

Plus, I was the only one submitting links on the front page, which got to be a little too much work for me each day. I was hoping it would be a little more like fark where the links get submitted, and I just approved them.. maybe if I get the script posting news items in the messageboard again, I'll give it a try again in the fall when traffic picks up again...
