Subject: the time is off:
I was just wondering why the time change is still off by an hour and 40 minutes.I've tried to set it again and again and it had told me that the numbers have to be between -23.5 and 23.5 whatever that means? ???I don't know what the hell I'm doin? >:( -howard-

The computer which runs the messageboards is set at a certain time. Now you are probably not in the same timezone, so you have to either add or subtract some time so that dates and times are shown to you correctly.
For instance, if the server was (say) GMT-5 (i.e. 5 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time), and you are (say) GMT-10, then you would enter an offest of -5 hours so when the board spits out a time, it is automatically corrected for you.
Obviously, you only need to enter a value between -23.5 and +23.5 :)
So, for your *current* setting, you have to *change* it by 1.5 hours (sorry, can't figure out from the information provided whether you have to add or subtract it from the current value).
The remainder of 10 minutes is not something we can control :-/

I finally figured out how to fix the clock. I entered 1.18 for the time differential and now the clock is almost right. .18 is probably the closest decimal to 11/60…

Don't fret, Chucky. We still don't know what time it is in Indiana! ;)
Subject: Re: the time is off:
You know what happened I almost had the time correct.I changed it to 1.18 and clicked"change profile"thinking the time was just correct here in NY and then it went back to an hour and fourty minutes slow from the corner time on top to the time in the left hand corner.weird. -howard- ;)

Now,The time in the corner on top is equal to the time in on the bottom of the left hand screen.I finally made it equal so the time on the top says 1135am and the time on the bottom says 1133am.so what. 2 minutes slow.can't get perfect time, anyway.my job is done. -howard- :)
Subject: Re: the time is off:
Is there any way the time could be fixed once again? the clock on top is about 10,11 minutes slow. ???

I notice that too; in fact it's about 49 minutes fast (in the Pacific time zone, that is). But I never really pay attention to it that much; the clock on my computer (in the bottom right corner of the screen) has it right; that's okay with me. ;) So if I post this and it says "December 16, 2003, 9:28pm" or whatever, that's cool. 8) If I ever care to wonder about what time I posted something, I just subtract 49 minutes from the listed time.
Subject: Re: the time is off:
This might sound too easy, but can't you just look at the clock at the righthand corner of your taskbar?
