My Dog Skip gave you nostalgia for your childhood
You were the last group of kids to grow up without a television
You wished you could grow muscles by eating spinach like Popeye
You saw Bambi in the movie theater and cried when his mother was shot
You hoped that your father or your brother would come home safe from the war
You knew where you were when Pearl Harbor was attacked and when World War II ended
You remember having war drills in school

I'm sure that kids today are grown-up and can purchase their own things themselves having jobs and making money.

You witnessed the then still existing institutional racism that non white people faced.

These also apply to those born after the 40s.
The difference is that those born in 40s and 30s saw them when they were 1st out in theaters, while those born later saw them when they were either re released in theaters, on TV, or online.

I saw "Bambi" for the first on a cinema screen during the late 1980s!

That sounds about right, for we viewed the film as a family children with us wre right for their age for the time as the viewing,
