I haven't seen it in a long time. There was a time that I LOVED it. I was proud of myself when I FINALLY read the book. That being said, I do have some issues:
First of all, the book was written from the southern perspective-the South were the good guys and the North were the bad guys. Of course all the slaves were SOOOOO happy. ::)
As you can tell, I have a lot of issues from the historical point of view.
As a piece of literature, I do find it frustrating because Scarlett was SOOOO stupid. Here she had a man who loved her like crazy (Rhett) and she threw him away for a fantasy (Ashley). I don't blame him for leaving her. And I think Bonnie Blue was a brat. Yeah, it was sad that she died but she was still a brat. Oh, and in the book, she had other kids-one from each of her husbands.
When did he say "Sorry My Dear, I Don't Give A Damn?"
The line was, "Frankly, My Dear..." He said it at the end.
"After all, tomorrow is another day."

GWTW is one of my favorite books/movies. The book is better because it's edgier and has things in it that they couldn't put into the movie due to the censorship of the time.
I never understood what Scarlett saw in Ashley. If his name alone wasn't a turn-off, the man really wasn't much more than his good looks. Honestly, none of Scarlett's men were that great. Rhett was physically and emotionally abusive, while Scarlett was just a downright b***h. :(

The last time I saw GWTW was probably over 20 years ago. I do remember this scene ...

I may watch it again soon....... But man do ya have to put some time aside!!!!!
Its split into 2 parts on the one I have from KSTW -- The first is a little over 2 hrs and then the rest is on so I could just watched the first 1/2 and go back to it later.........
