Subject: Place an approximate month and year to this photo?

Based on the way the people are dressed, the cars in the photo, the vegetarian and level of sunlight, can you guys help me approximate a month and year for this photo? It was taken in Connecticut, if that helps as far as the month part. The cars could help with the year.

My guess is that year is between 1968-1972. I would guess the month is June because it looks like that one person is graduating from something.

About 3:30 in the afternoon.

It could be for a wedding, a shower, or a church service. People still dressed a lot more formal prior to especially 1968 or so. Probably July or August due to the browness in the grass and deep green foliage. I'd say July 1965.

There was no event that I am aware of. The girl is my aunt and she was a Nun and my family was simply coming to visit her at the Nunnery.

I don't know if they let you join a convent prior to graduation from high school, but if it helps she graduated in the class of 1967.

If you take away the cars it actually looks pretty modern! That's why I like the picture.

The car could be a 1962 Chevy Impala SS in Emerald green.

Howard, there have been nuns since Christianity was founded over 2000 years ago.

Other religions have nuns too,.
The first Christian nuns, like the first Christian monks, lived alone in the desert in Egypt in the 300s and 400s AD, where they could be alone to pray all day. Gradually these people formed religious communities, where many people lived together. After some time, the bishops made the nuns live separately from the monks.
