Subject: A Yellow Submarine Remake?
Written By: MrCleveland on 08/22/09 at 5:01 pm
Robert Zemeciks (Roger Rabbit, Back to the Future) and Disney decided to remake "Yellow Submarine"...or so the rumor says.
This can not and SHOULD not happen because it says that Lennon hated Disney because of "The Jungle Book" vultures and the TV Show which wasn't Disney. (However, Lennon quoted from a Snow White film in "Do You Want To Know A Secret" and has a Snow White statue in "Sgt. Pepper"). And McCartney doesn't like Disney because of how they treat animals.
I don't know if any of this is true or Pie in the Sky!

The report I have heard is that it will be in 3-D!

It wasn't much of a film in the first place (almost as self-indulgent like 'Magical Mystery Tour' was!), so I don't see how a remake would 'ruin' it...

Why not show the 'Magical Mystery Tour' again?

Absolutely not!!! The Beatles are the only ones who could do the vocals. Besides if you ask them there was meaning behind the film that was quite personal.

If you're referring to The Fabs doing the voices in YS, they didn't!
Their genuine voices only appeared in the songs and in the brief real-life segment at the end...all the other voices were performed by actors (very well, it must be admitted!)

Dick Emery had his voice in the film.

I'd stick with the original when I need a Yellow Submarine fix........

Neither was a great film (yellow Submarine or Magical Mystery Tour), but great songs though.
If you want to see better Beatles films, watch "A Hard days night" or "Help"

I just like the appearance of Wilfred Brambell as Paul's grandfather.

He was very good in that role.

He was very good in that role.
He is more famous for being Albert Stptoe in Steptoe and Son.

With today's computer technology, can't the original be enhanced?

I think they would do better if they remade Yellow Submarine Sandwich.
