Subject: Video: Midtown Plaza Mall, Rochester, NY (1963)

Keep in mind, indoor shopping malls were still fairly new at the time and weren't widespread until the early '70s, so it was definately a great place to go. One thing I REALLY miss about these days are the lack of BIG CHAINS (Altough you do see a J.C. Penney in the strip mall and A&P was huge back then). Take the same video of a similar area today and you'll find the same bland big-box and chain stores today. Everything had variety back then just like social media has variety today.

Yelimsexa are you from Rochester? my wife has relatives who live there and her cousin, long time retired now, was an electrician, worked on that mall and many other reconstruction projects in the city...it's a beautiful city with terrific people living there.
