Subject: Really cool YouTube channel

So, as I was surfing YouTube the other night (I am hopelessly addicted), I found this channel where this guy makes videos of playing songs from his massive collection of old 45 rpm records. He has over 1000 videos so far, the sound quality is great, and it's awesome to hear these old songs as they were originally recorded on vinyl (as opposed to the digitally remastered versions we hear today...it seems to take something away from them).

Some classics there and no mistake! :D
it's awesome to hear these old songs as they were originally recorded on vinyl (as opposed to the digitally remastered versions we hear today...it seems to take something away from them).
Even without re-mastering, these 'originals' would still lack a certain something...some record companies would deliberately over-compress records to make them appear to have more 'punch' (which was essential for mid-60s radio!)
Even worse, some record companies would try to construct a 'stereo' version from a mono master (big in the 70s, when stereo was everything...)
It only took them a decade and a half to discover that this was needlessly wrong!

Well, watching videos of records spinning around may not be the most exciting thing in the world, I'll admit.
But hearing old songs they way they were meant to be heard instead of digitally remastered, well, I happen to think that's pretty damn cool.
