They are both pretty cool...but I have to say, "The Munsters".

I was brought up on The Monsters and never saw The Adams Family in their glory.

I had seen maybe four Adams Family episode.  I've seen all the Munsters.

We were having lunch at a restaurant in Berkeley with a spectacular view of the San Francisco Bay and a couple tables away from us was Grandpa Munster having lunch with his real grandkids one Sunday afternoon and some people said hi Al  and he just smiled & waved and said "Happy Happy"

Addams Family are a far and pale second to Fred Gwynn, Yvonne DeCarlo, Al Lewis, Butch Patrick (later to go on to Sid and Marty Crofft's "Lidsville" fame)

I liked the Adams Family - the Munsters was never on when I was little.

Like 'em both, but I had to go with the Munsters. For one, the Munsters had a much better theme song, plus the Addams Family never had one of these:

Furthermore, I love the original one-panel Charles Addams cartoons, which appeared in the New Yorker magazine circa 1930s--1950s.  The film "The Addams Family" (1991) was even better than the TV series because Sonnenfeld et al. were trying to adhere more closely to the darker-themed Addams cartoons than the light comedy of the '60s TV show. 

Addams the cartoonist was a genius for more than his "Addams Family."  I've heard psychometricians used this cartoon in their tests.  If the patient could understand why the cartoon is funny, it was a sign of mental health.  This might be apocryphal, however.
