Subject: Trying to find the lyrics to a comedy song
Written By: John.......Relic on 08/03/06 at 10:32 am
I heard a monologue type of comedy song called "Talking army blues" ( or it could have been Singing army blues ) it was in the 50s I don't remember who the artist was, as it was many yeas ago while I was in the military. It's about a country boy that has been called up for the draft and it gives a insight into his views of the draft............. I remember the first few words " Playing my guitar singing the blues, Here comes the postman bringing bad news.........Got a letter saying get outa that rut, There's a vacant bed waiting in a army hut. I got out my bag and packed some stuff, I reckon three pairs of longjohns will be enough......................Any one help please ?
