Subject: "Kansas City" hit version -- who did it?

When I was a kid in Little Dixie the only radio station we received played country western, blues, gospel and early rock as if they were all the same thing -- good music. My first favorite song was Kansas City and I've heard a dozen versions since but not the one I'm looking for. This would have been between '57 and '65. Appreciate any help you can offer.
