I agree(even though I'm straight-hehe). I also love the mod style. This is a tough one, but I'll go with hippie.

What about Edie Sedwick? Is she considered a mod girl? I don't think she is a hippie chick, she pretty much died before the hippie stage of the '70s happened.

I consider the early 70s 'psuedo-hippie' or 'post hippie', so if you were hot in 1967, you could have been a hippie chick. Though Joplin wasn't a 'strict' hippie in the sense of the word, she represented the counter-culture like no other icon...
