Red Skelton's eternal closing of his weekly show- "Good night and God bless"
I'd like to add, what a beautiful, talented, artistic genius of an entertainer he was; proves that you can be hilarious without resorting to the filth that many of today's comics seem to rely on so heavily. I've got many DVD's of his show and they are truly timeless pieces of work; as funny today as they were in the 1960's.

Are you thinking about the Smothers' Brothers? I remember the "You can call my Jay, or you can call me Ray...." from a commercial in the 70s. I can't remember what it was for. However, the Smothers' Brother COULD have had that on their show but I don't remember it.

No not the Smothers Bothers, I was thinking of all day today, the one who did that character JJ also did a character who was the Unknown Comic and wore a brown paper bag over his head and mocked people and had a high pitched laugh to really aggravate the people he mocked. I think he married a popular actress too, and divorced her...C'mon who is he!?...you know, I know you know who he is. HW

Yeah, I'm sure it was the 60's, I was in high school when it was a popular "put down", I don't know how it got started but it sounded cool and everyone used it, it was that or if someone was trying to get over on you, the ever popular phrase for all the decades..."Get the F--k out of here" did the trick also.
