I hesitate to use the word 'sappy', but one the Beach Boys' many songs (mostly written by Brian) which do you think is the most 'saccharine' (in a good way)? I mean, which of Wilson's melodies moves you most? Forget the lyrics, just concentrate on the music.
For me it would be a tough one, but Caroline No would probably be it. It stuck in my head the FIRST TIME I LISTENED TO IT, which is a very rare thing for me.

Other- "Don't Worry Baby." In my opinion, one of the most beautifully crafted pop songs ever recorded. Nowhere near as complex as the Pet Sounds or SMiLE material, but for me this was Brian Wilson's finest moment.

I'll second the nomination for "In My Room". The song's theme is pretty deep, especially when one considers the time in which it was issued.

I've always though God Only Knows was overrated...a bit like Strawberry Fields Forever was for the Beatles. It might be technically a good song, but it lacks the ability to move you emotionally. In other words, it lacks soul.
