Sean Connery is the man, but my personal fave is Roger Moore. Most of the Bond films I grew up with featured him.

I honestly thought Timothy Dalton was the best James Bond.  "The Living Daylights" remains my all-time favourite Bond flick :)

How about all the upteenth James Bonds that was in the original Casino Royale, with the likes of David Niven, Peters Sellers and Woody Allen?

A memorable John Barry moment when I made him wait follows..  :-[ :-[

I went to see him once at The Royal Albert Hall and I'd sat down in what I thought was my correct seat, waiting expectantly for the great show to begin and the house was packed to the rafters. Anyway after 2 or 3 orchestral pieces a 'latecomer' turned up claiming I was in his seat, as I went redder and redder trying to find my correct one, JOHN BARRY and it seemed like the whole 'House' turned to look at us, and what all the fuss was in the Stalls, and waited till we'd sorted ourselves out to begin conducting again - to this day that moment still has me cringeing with embarrassment   :-[ :-[ :-[

Sorry Mr Barry   ;D

Did you wait at the Stage Door to apologise?

For some very stupid reason, none of those actors are considered "actual" James Bonds, because Casino Royale was not an Albert R. Broccoli production  ::)

They are doing a re-make of Casino Royale, and it will star Daniel Craig in his first Bond film :)

No but I really should have though, shouldn't I?  :-[
that is if I'd had the nerve, as it was I just sidled out sheepishly.

One of my favorite James Bond's is one that ALMOST made it

After Roger Moore left the franchise, one of their original choices was Sam Neill.

However, Neill was already shooting a miniseries called "Amerika" (does anybody else remember that?), and was unavailable until the next year.  By that time, they had already contracted Timothy Dalton.

I often wish he had been able to take the role.  I bet he would have made an awesome Bond.

There again, he could have signed the programme for you.

Man, Sam Neil would have made an excellent Bond.  That guy is such a great actor

Sam Neill as James Bond? That's intruiging, though I have to wonder what the purists would have thought of that choice. Speaking of "Amerika", we were just chatting about that mini-series elsewhere on the 80s board. Creepy.

Are you being serious? You must be very young if you think that.  Connery was the only believable Bond, but I think the new guy Daniel Craig  is a great choice.

Godddddd I always thought dalton was such a pansy (infact he is in real life)

I like all the other Bonds, but there was just something about Timothy Dalton that no other Bond had.  I can't quite put my finger on it.

Sean Connery was the best Bond. I lost interest in it after he left.

My fave James Bond, Roger Moore, is lending his support to the embattled Daniel Craig.  :) Check this out:
