Subject: Bewitched and the Two Darrins

I love Bewitched.
Isn't it funny that the two Darrins were played by two Dicks?
Which is your favorite?

OK..good question...
York was 64-69 and Sargent from the 5th season...69-72
I thought York was much more frazzled, and a much more seasoned actor, in drama and in comedy (film appearances include "Inherit the Wind).

Yeah, I think so too!
He was so much thinner, seemingly due to all the stress that being married to a witch caused him.
I though Sargent carried a little more authority and should have been able to control things. Dick York had NO control over anything.

yeah, get used to is a good way to put it.
the more I think about it, the more important this is to me..
things like this, occupying my brainspace, is the reason I can't remember phone numbers or do math in my head.

I am going to find out more about dick Sargent...but I don't remember seeing anywhere before the tv show...I know I'd seen Dick York in many other things before he met Samantha.

I remember Dick Sargent from an early episode of Three's Company. He played Chrissy's Date

I just discovered that Dick Sargent auditioned for the role of Darrin Stephens, but too the lead in a different tv show instead.
later, they called him to take over the role.

I liked Dick York better. He died in 1992 of Empysema, and Dick Sargent died in 1994 of prostate cancer.
