November 5th saw the sorrowful loss a musical pioneer and giant, Link Wray. He died peacefully at his home in Copenhagen at age 76. Voted #33 in Guitar World

Very sad to hear...a true original...
'Rumble' never charted in the UK, but has always remained a 'forgotten' favourite, due to it's unique sound - which was way ahead of the 'norm' for an electric guitar way back then...
I remember hearing it for the first time some years ago, thinking 'that can't be from 1958...!!'
There was a story that Archie Bleyer (the owner of MOR Cadence Records, which 'Rumble' appeared on) wasn't taken by it - he seemed to have trouble getting his head around the 'distortion' near the end...
...Bleyer's then-teenage daughter saved the day when she successfully persuaded her father to release it...
