Subject: 1960's ABC saturday morning cartoon.."The Beatles"..anyone remember it?

I thought it was cool that The Beatles had their own Saturday morning cartoon show here in America,on ABC-TV!
Why have people seemingly forgotten that show? I thought the cartoon was cool...someone on another message board said the reason why the cartoon is not shown anymore(on some channel like Boomerang or Cartoon Network)was that it 'slanted towards racism'..HOW?
I say, the cartoon should be taken out of the film vaults and shown regularly. Why not?

i must say it was a very cornball show but I never missed it! and I'd watch it again.

I remember only one show or song they did, a psychodelic cartoon of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" it was made as if you were on an LSD trip...and this was a kids show? I wondered if their mothers really knew what the title meant and if they did, did they let them watch it or not? It was done cool, but I don't remember watching any others, I might have in the begining only that Lucy one stuck in my head even now I can recall the artwork in the scenes.

I liked how they had the lyrics on-screen, so that I could sing along....

It never had an airing in Britain until (believe it or not) the late 80s...!
It was slotted in a prototype 'all night' entertainment programme called 'Night Network' (or 'Night Notwork' as I used to call it...!)
This self-same 'programme' also used to show episodes of 'The Partridge Family'...!
All very surreal, though I'm not sure who the target audience was at three in the morning...! Probably those who were either half-drunk, or the hardened insomniacs...!
Anyway, the cartoon was 'off-the-scale' corny and I don't think I've seen it ever since!

Corny & goofy, but as kids we craved everything about the Beatles available and saturday morning cartoons became another way to hear a couple of beatle songs each episode.
