Subject: Tony Sheridan and the Beatles in Hamberg
Written By: Mullet-Head on 07/28/05 at 5:35 am
This was some real kick ass Rockabilly. It was recorded in Hamberg Germany.
I had the record as a kid. It actually doesn't sound anything like the Beatles. The majority of the songs were sung by Tony Sheridan who was actually a British version of Elvis. After making this record Tony Sheridan virtually disappered.

Well, he never really 'disappeared' as such - he did attempt to trade on The Beatles' fame for a while, but gave it up and continued with his much-loved Blues music thereafter...
He's still around making music to this very day...
The stuff recorded in Hamburg is not exactly what I'd call cutting-edge - rather, it's too polished - that being a result of the state-of-the-art studios that Polydor in Germany had at the time...
It's best left to the die-hard fans...
