Subject: When did the Wild West era end?

I'd say 1910's, although by 1900 it was already dying out.

the wild west era died out with the introduction of the barbed wire fence and that was in the 1880s.

I'd never really thought about this but that makes perfect sense

Sorry, but I honestly don't think there's a clear-cut decade-line of end-marking. Even the Depression-era had commonalities with the time frame traditionally considered the Old West. (Just one example in which the details within reflect this, there's the 1937 John Steinbeck novel "Of Mice and Men" (then contemporary). (Btw, that's not my only source.))

They were REAL men. Just like 'Boys don't cry' 8) .... who are still saying 'I wanna be a cowboy... and you can be my cowgirl .... .yipee yi yo, yippe yippe yi yo !' ... my name is Ted ... and one day..... I'll be dead !' :(
I wonder IF Ted is dead ? ???
:D
