Equally great. Each group had its own flavor and contribution to music. The Beatles more pop rock and the Stones more Blues, Soul, and R&B tinged rock.

So it's been done before, why do we need 2 threads for the same topic ;) ? no disrespect to people that posted on the old thread but I would rather see a new one started than to resurect old ones that are months old and 4-5-6 pages long.

equally great. had i lived in the sixties i would have been a rolling stone's fan. the beatles, i would have seen as a chick band.

The Beatles. The Stones are a legendary rock group, but even they pale in comparison to the Beatles.

I say equally great. I have more of a preference for the Beatles but I also like The Stones. The Beatles in my opinion though, came up with better songs. The Stones songs are okay, but they are not quite as good. If I had to choose a favorite song by each, I would say from the Beatles: Hey Jude and from The Stones: Paint it Black.

I guess if we are talking about The Beatles vs The Stones during their entire career then things almost even up for me, I like alot of their 70's stuff. If it's The Beatles vs just 60s Stones then its no contest :)

The stones are no doubt great, but they were always 4-5 steps behind the Bealtles, also some people may know this but others dont, the Stones first # 1 record was written especiallyl for them by John/Paul; the song was "I wanna be you man"

Well i have to say that both bands are great. But my favorite band in the world is the Beatles. I like the Stones but not as much as the Beatles. Beatles for life. I will love the Beatles forever.

The Beatles have infuenced so many more artists over the years...as well as having a #1 Album 30 years after breaking up. I don't think Mick and the boys come a "Stones Throw" NEAR the Fab Four ;)

I'd have to say...the BEATLES, I never really liked the Stones. However, I don't think the Beatles' claim as 'best band in the world' is unquestioned...they are certainly the best Brit band followed by Pink Floyd, Queen or Led Zeppelin. Anyway, when it comes down it it I like the Beatles' music more than I like the Stones' music.
